How new people get farmed

Six tricks that take most of the money from people new to memecoins. Each one has a live example from the last 24 hours.

  1. 1

    The painted chart

    What you see
A coin with huge volume and a smooth green chart.
    What it really is
A few bot wallets trading with each other to make it look busy. The fees give it away: almost none were paid.
    How to spot it
Check the trading fees. Under 3 SOL is fake.
  2. 2

    The fake billion

    What you see
A brand-new coin "worth" hundreds of millions.
    What it really is
The makers hold almost all the supply and trade it between themselves at a silly price. Nobody can sell into it.
    How to spot it
Real-people volume near $0 next to a giant market cap.
  3. 3

    The copy

    What you see
You search a ticker you saw on X and buy the first result.
    What it really is
Twenty coins share that ticker. Nineteen are copies made to catch exactly that search.
    How to spot it
Search the ticker here first. Farmed shows which one people actually trade.
  4. 4

    The one-minute dump

    What you see
A chart going straight up, then you buy.
    What it really is
The launchers bought early with many wallets, waited for buyers, and sold everything inside a minute.
    How to spot it
A drop of 80% in one minute on its history means it happened before. Stay away.
  5. 5

    The instant bond

    What you see
A coin that "bonded" seconds after it launched.
    What it really is
The maker bought the whole curve with their own wallets so it looks popular, then sells to you after the bond.
    How to spot it
Launch to bond under a minute, plus few real buyers.
  6. 6

    The farm

    What you see
A new coin on a hot meta, with holders and volume.
    What it really is
One wallet made it, and 40 others today. It is one crop of many.
    How to spot it
Look at who made it. Farmed shows the farm and every coin it planted.

Before you buy anything

  1. Search the ticker. If there are copies, make sure you have the real CA.
  2. Look at the trading fees. Under 3 SOL, skip it.
  3. Look at real-people volume, not just volume.
  4. Look at the top 10 wallets. If they hold over 40%, a few people can crash it.
  5. Look at who made it. A wallet with lots of fake coins today is a farm.

Words you'll see

CA
Contract address: the coin's unique ID. Tickers can be copied, the CA can't.
Ticker
The short name, like $FRONGUS. Anyone can use any ticker.
Bond / graduate
A new coin trades on a launch curve until enough is bought, then it moves to a normal pool. That move is the bond.
Market cap
Price times supply: what the whole coin is worth on paper.
Volume
Total bought and sold. Easy to fake.
Trading fees
What every trade pays. Hard to fake, because it costs real money.
Holders
Wallets holding the coin. Can be faked with many small wallets.
Dev
The wallet that launched the coin.
Farm
A wallet (or group) that launches many coins to fake them and sell to buyers.
Rug / dump
When the people who control most of a coin sell it all at once.
Sniper
A bot that buys in the first second of a launch to sell to you later.
Bundle
When the dev buys from many wallets in the same moment as the launch, to hide how much they hold.
